Introducing the team who built LinkedIn's newest co-working space and executive briefing center

This week, we’re excited to highlight the work our team recently completed at LinkedIn’s Headquarters in downtown San Francisco at 222 2nd Street.  This four-floor fit-out features a stunning executive briefing center and co-working space at the building’s top level.

The 26th and highest floor in LinkedIn’s stunning downtown San Francisco office features three executive conference rooms, a large break room, a high-end event space, custom lighting features, multiple phone booths, as well as a luxurious kitchenette and pantry.

While building at the upper level may come with a great view, it also brings several challenges. Assistant Project Manager, Candace Dorsey explains, “One of the biggest challenges was working in an occupied building. Our project consisted of the top 4 floors (23rd – 26th) that were empty shells allowing the sound to vibrate throughout. In order to mitigate the noise complaints, we provided the client a schedule of standard construction activities that produced noise as a way to allow both parties to plan around meetings and events to that required no interruptions”.

“An additional challenge we faced”, Candace continues, “was the building shared one freight elevator with janitorial services, food services, event crews, IT, and mail services –  to say the wait time was long would be an understatement. To accommodate working with a single elevator, we created a freight schedule and coordinated that with our onsite operation team to stagger our deliveries and to also allow access to free up the freight for other vendor deliveries.”

Lastly, the design of the space proved to be an additional challenge. The dynamic-in-nature design had our team working quickly, efficiently to accommodate the client’s needs. Candace explains, “mid-way through construction the design changed in order to create an upscale space with high-end finishes—a place for important client meetings, events, and a space for employees.” She goes on to explain, “the client was great throughout the process. She has a thorough understanding of design and construction, so a lot of the new finishes were based on materials we could get efficiently.”

I enjoy working with the Dome SF team because not only are they a great team to work with because of their team dynamics but as individuals, they contribute to making sure our projects are on budget and schedule. The team knows how to manage challenging situations and when an individual isn’t available the team comes together and is quickly able to pick up and support me no matter the issue. Their team dynamics promote communication but overall getting the job done the right way. I know when these three are on the team, I don’t have to worry about anything…except where to celebrate together”.

Every project presents challenges, but the true test of a strong team is how they overcome them. Niall, Candace, and Danny are the epitome of a strong team. Through innovation, collaboration, and communication, this team delivered a beautiful space that the client was happy with.

Now that this space is complete, this team is still together working on building out a Sound Studio—stay tuned for more updates!
