Dome Construction Foundation
The Dome Construction Foundation was established in 2019 to expand Dome Construction’s philanthropic efforts and to continue to engage and expose our employees to give back. Through the Foundation, 3-4% of our net profit is donated to organizations that align with the Foundation's mission. We offer our employees the financial resources to support the organizations that matter most to them by donating to those organizations, matching up to $1,500 in donations a year, and donating $20 for every hour that employees volunteer, up to 75 hours a year.
Our Mission
The Dome Construction Foundation is committed to strengthening the foundation of the communities in which we live and work by improving their social, economic, and environmental well-being. We strive to inspire our employees and partners to integrate giving back and volunteering as part of their everyday lives.
FOCUS AREA
EMPLOYEE INSPIRED COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
We support and partner with non-profit organizations that our employees are passionate about to engage our teams. This includes organizations who are focused on challenges around: community health and well-being, rebuilding and revitalizing, unhoused individuals and families, the environment, animal welfare, disease prevention, food banks, and Veteran support.

WHO WE SUPPORT AND WHY
Cycle for Survival
At the core of the mission of the Dome Construction Foundation is to support the causes and organizations that are important to our employees, and Cycle for Survival is near and dear to our Director of Marketing, Ali Wood.
Ali’s cousin Logan was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma in May 2017 and sadly lost his battle in September 2019. Ali got Dome involved with Cycle for Survival after Logan’s diagnosis and, since that time, has led Dome employees to raise over $50,000.
Rare cancers like the one Logan had been underfunded, and Cycle for Survival accelerated progress in rare cancer research, bringing new and better treatment options to people around the world.
WHO WE SUPPORT AND WHY
Family House
Our Accounting Team had the privilege of preparing a comforting meal at Family House, a home away from home for families of children with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses. It provides not only physical comfort but also crucial emotional support while relieving families of any financial concerns they may have during these difficult times. Family House is more than just a place to stay; it is a tight-knit community of individuals committed to creating a nurturing environment for entire families as their children undergo treatment.
For our AP Specialist, Ashley Cardenas, this experience hit particularly close to home. She witnessed the struggles and triumphs of her little brother’s battle with leukemia when he was just four years old. Through firsthand experience, Ashley understood the profound impact that even small acts of kindness, such as providing a warm and nutritious meal, can have on families navigating such challenging circumstances.
WHO WE SUPPORT AND WHY
Habitat for Humanity
Our Thousand Oaks team took part in a playhouse build day with Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County.
Habitat for Humanity of Ventura County builds and sells affordable homes, offers critical health and safety repairs for low-income homeowners, and advocates for policies that create more housing for struggling families. They understand that when families have a stable place to call home, they can stop just getting by and start to thrive. Proceeds raised by these playhouse build days provide direct support for their programs.
WHO WE SUPPORT AND WHY
All Stars Project Inc & ICA Cristo Rey Academy
The Dome Construction Foundation was excited to collaborate with the All Stars Project, Inc. to host 25 young women from ICA Cristo Rey Academy, helping them develop their networking and professional performance skills. The students spent time learning about active listening, curiosity, and relationship-building, and then put those skills to use by practicing networking with some Dome Employees. Spending time with these future leaders certainly gives hope for the future!
The All Stars Project of the San Francisco Bay Area integrates young people from some of the most isolated communities into the mainstream. Young people learn to perform as professionals as they partner with business leaders who conduct development workshops and provide paid summer internships at their companies. ICA Cristo Rey empowers girls from underserved communities to become confident young women capable of realizing their full potential.
OUR TEAM
At the heart of the Dome Construction Foundation is our Chairman Mark Bley. As an experienced leader and philanthropist, Mark has the head—and the heart—to lead the foundation to growing success. He joined Dome Construction in 1981 and served as President and CEO from 2008 to 2019.
Before taking on the chairmanship of the foundation, Mark was already engaged in supporting his community. He mentored seven young people through the Urban Services YMCA Reach and Rise program, where he served on the Board of Directors, and is strongly committed to providing youth with the opportunities to build their future. Because of his leadership, Dome Construction also helped sponsor youth development programs including Urban Services’ Empowerment to Employment (E2E), Genesys Works, ICA Cristo Rey Academy, and All Stars workforce development. Mark also serves on the Board for All Stars Project, Inc.
In addition to his own dedication to giving back, Mark has encouraged Dome’s current leadership to take an active role in philanthropic leadership positions. Dome’s CEO, Rob Lynch, currently serves on the board of the Urban Services YMCA Reach and Rise Program.
