TimConway

We are excited to share that Tim Conway, Assistant Project Manager, and eMOD Co-Founder, relocated from the Bay Area to join our San Diego team!

Tim joined Dome Construction in 2015 shortly after graduating from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo with a Bachelor of Landscape Architecture and a minor in Construction Management. After holding a few internships in both architecture and construction, Tim realized his passion was building, and luckily for us, he landed at Dome!

Since the beginning of his career, Tim has worked within the Life Science sector, building complex spaces within occupied facilities. Equipped with a deep understanding of Life Science building, paired with the San Diego team’s geographical expertise, Tim will be a perfect fit in our new region!  When Tim isn’t building, you can find him working on eMOD, a SaaS, that is changing the construction safety game. Check out more information here.

Over the last five years, Tim has been an integral part of our Dome culture in the Bay Area, and as sad as we are to see him go, we know he will be a great addition to our growing San Diego team!

We sat down with Tim Conway to learn about his construction experience and to get a better understanding of the things he’s looking forward to as he joins the San Diego team.

Can you tell us about your professional background?

I graduated from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 2015, majoring in Landscape Architecture & minoring in Construction Management. After completing internships in both the architectural & construction fields, I knew my passion was for building. I started with Dome right after graduating and haven’t looked back since! (Besides hosting info / recruiting sessions at Cal Poly, of course).

For me, San Diego was very appealing to seek new opportunities in my career and to live in a coastal community. I grew up spending a lot of time at the beach and the ocean, so I am very excited to be here!

What experience do you bring to Dome?

I bring 6+ years of Life Science experience to the table. Specializing in Biotech has allowed me to tackle and execute some very complex projects from the early onset of my career. Working in challenging / innovative environments motivates me to continue learning every day.

Geographically my experience has been focused throughout the San Francisco / SSF Bay Area markets.

What are you looking forward to most about bringing Dome’s presence to San Diego?

For me, it is great to see how many existing relationships Dome has forged over the years directly carry over to San Diego, but I am also very excited to grow our business with new clients & teams.

On a personal note, I am really looking forward to leveraging my experience in the Life Science industry and pairing that with Rob Cruden’s expertise in the large ground-up projects. I think between both our backgrounds, we are going be set up to build some amazing projects in San Diego – the sky is the limit with this team.

How do you see the office of San Diego developing in the next 5 years?

I see the San Diego office being a great extension of our strong Dome culture. We work with so many amazing clients that continue to introduce us to more faces in the industry. I know that in the next 5 years Dome will become a pillar in the San Diego construction market.

What do you like most about Dome Construction?

When I started with Dome back in 2015 as a Project Engineer I was given a lot of responsibility and opportunity to grow (this was pivotal to jumpstarting my career). Interfacing with clients that we have worked with for 30+ years and continuing to grow and foster those relationships have been very important to me. I think Dome does an amazing job at valuing everyone we work with, It is this high level of integrity that makes me proud to work at Dome and motivated to help us branch out to new frontiers!
