Introducing Dome's Newest Associate General Superintendent, Nick Ramirez!

Starting my career in the field played a huge part in my success and now it's my turn to open those same doors for others.

With nearly three decades of experience working his way up from the field, we’re proud to celebrate Nick Ramirez’s promotion to Associate General Superintendent! Let’s take a moment to get to know Nick and the journey that brought him to this milestone.

Nick’s path into construction wasn’t something he mapped out from the start. “It was just a job at the time to make money,” he recalls. “I had no idea it would turn into a great way to support my family.” But a chance moment on a jobsite changed everything. As a young Taper, Nick noticed a man walking through the field with a group of people gathered around him; “you could tell he was important,” Nick says. “When I saw that, I knew I wanted to be in his position one day.” That man was John Mendoza, and the rest, as Nick puts it, is history.

That spark of ambition, paired with a lifelong love of team sports, helped shape the leader Nick is today. “Playing sports my whole life taught me how to be a team player, a leader, and how to communicate,” he shared. Those lessons have translated directly into his work in the field: where communication, collaboration, and supporting others are at the core of everything he does.

A Career Built on Trust, Mentorship, and “Same Team”

Nick credits much of his growth to two key mentors: John Mendoza and Jerry Chavez. “They showed me honesty, trust, and respect, and they opened doors for me in this business,” he said. Before Dome, Nick also learned from outstanding General Superintendents who invested in his development by sharing knowledge, owning mistakes, and truly listening. “I bring all of that to my position here at Dome,” Nick shared, “and it aligns perfectly with Dome’s core values.”

That alignment with Dome’s values, Value Your People, Seek to Understand, and Do It Right, is a big part of why Nick feels at home here. “Dome separates themselves from other GCs by valuing the people who put in the work and truly seeking to understand each individual,” he said. “It’s a family-first company, and they genuinely care about each one of us and our paths toward our goals.”

Leading with Heart

As Associate General Superintendent, Nick’s focus is squarely on the people around him. “My role is about supporting the teams and making sure we have what we need to all grow and be successful,” he said. “What I love most about my work is working with others; seeing their growth and success.”

His superpower? Making people smile and reminding them just how important they are to the team. “Every day brings new challenges,” Nick says, “but it’s what we make of our day as a team, as a family. When we support one another, we hit our goals.”

His motivation runs deep. What drives Nick is working with team members, seeing them smile, and watching them succeed. He finds further support from his wife and children, these family members remain his strongest motivation to show up with a smile every day.

As a leader, Nick brings a philosophy grounded in growth and humility. Nick believes that people grow by following the principles, “always keep an open mind, never stop learning, and be able to listen.” The most important lesson he hopes to pass on is that every mistake can be turned into a positive learning experience with the right attitude and leadership.

Looking ahead to the rest of 2026, Nick has a clear vision: help every member of his team make meaningful strides in their career paths, all while keeping the same team mentality that has defined his career. His motto says it all, “Same Team!!!”

Getting to Know Nick

Outside of work, Nick is someone who savors the quiet moments. On Sunday mornings, you can find him sipping coffee in the cantina, “reflecting on how lucky we are to do what we do in life.” He’s a man of many talents, including a spot-on rooster call that’s been known to have people searching a store for the real thing. He has a wide breadth of musical interests, varying from Post Malone to Morgan Wallen to Lil Wayne.

Nick is also passionate about giving back. He holds a special place in his heart for Seal For A Day, an organization that supports veterans as they transition back to civilian life. It’s a cause that speaks to the same values he brings to work every day: showing up for people, listening, and helping others find their footing.

Nick Through the Eyes of His Colleagues

Nick’s impact on those around him is felt every day on the jobsite. Jerry Chavez, one of Nick’s longtime mentors and collaborators, put it simply: “Nick exemplifies both leadership and accountability, always demonstrating a steadfast commitment to stepping up and taking ownership whenever the situation calls for it. His positive outlook is genuinely inspiring, creating an atmosphere that motivates those around him. Nick’s dedication and attitude are invaluable to our team, and I wanted to express how grateful I am for everything Nick has done for the Dome Field Team!”

That sentiment is echoed across the team. Jackson Butler speaks to Nick’s relentless drive: “Nick has a ‘can do’ attitude and gets things accomplished always with a ‘team’ approach.” It’s a quality that shows up not just in the day-to-day, but in the moments that matter most. As Ryan Young shares, “I always look forward to working with Nick. I can trust Nick in the most challenging situations, and he utilizes a team approach to solve problems, while making friends along the way.”

Congratulations, Nick! We’re proud to have you leading our teams and can’t wait to see the impact ahead.
