We’re proud to announce Shane Flanagan’s promotion to Project Executive.

Shane’s career may not follow a traditional path, but it’s one defined by curiosity, resilience, and a commitment to building with purpose. With a degree in economics from the University of Colorado, he entered the construction industry from a unique vantage point—one that’s allowed him to connect strategic thinking with hands-on execution. From the start, Shane has combined business insight with a passion for creating spaces that serve people and communities.

His early interest in building was sparked by his mother, a senior hospital executive, who often brought home floor plans and design concepts for a new hospital she was leading. That early exposure planted the seed for a career that would span roles from project cost engineer to construction manager, leading complex capital projects and building deep technical expertise along the way. His time in the life sciences sector gave him a strong understanding of drug manufacturing and cGMP-regulated environments, further sharpening his ability to lead highly technical, mission-critical work.

It was during this time that Shane first connected with Dome. What started as a professional relationship soon revealed a shared vision, ultimately bringing Shane into the Dome team seven years ago. Since then, he’s consistently brought a thoughtful, client-first mindset to every project, drawing on his experience to anticipate operational needs and deliver results that stand the test of time.

Shane has been instrumental in helping grow Dome’s presence in key sectors and regions. Leveraging his background in Healthcare and Life Sciences, he has supported our expansion in those areas while also helping lead our entry into Aerospace and Advanced Technology—markets that align with his research-driven, systems-oriented approach. His leadership has also contributed to Dome’s growth across California, from Santa Barbara to Orange County.
