Introducing Matt Heathwood, Project Executive

We’re excited to announce Matt Heathwood’s promotion to Project Executive.

Matt Heathwood’s path into construction started early. With a father who worked as a career estimator and consultant, he grew up surrounded by building and jobsite conversations. During high school and college, he spent his summers laboring for various trades—concrete, plumbing, electrical, and fire sprinklers—getting firsthand experience, often at the end of a shovel. After a brief stint in financial services post-college, Matt returned to what felt most natural: construction.

He’s always been drawn to the core of the work—the “nuts and bolts,” as he puts it. Problem-solving, keeping things simple, and finding practical efficiencies in a field that can often lean toward overcomplication are what fuel him. Now, as a newly promoted Project Executive at Dome, Matt brings that mindset to the teams he leads—focused on clarity, accountability, and driving projects forward without unnecessary noise.

As he looks to the future, Matt’s goal is to support and elevate project teams by sharing the knowledge he’s gained throughout his career. He values efficiency and straightforward thinking, and believes that staying positive, being accountable, and working hard often matter more than technical know-how alone.

Matt’s career has been shaped by exposure to strong leaders and collaborative teams. Over time, he developed a leadership style grounded in calm execution, reliability, and a clear-eyed approach to problem-solving. While he occasionally wonders what a Superintendent path might have looked like, he’s confident in the choices he’s made—and energized for what’s ahead.

What’s kept him engaged is the culture around him—one that values trust, simplicity, and a focus on people. It’s the kind of environment where Matt thrives, and where he’s eager to pay it forward. As he steps into his new role, Matt brings a steady hand, practical mindset, and a deep commitment to team success—helping drive the next generation of projects and leaders forward.
