    BIM Coordinator

    The BIM Coordinator is responsible for supporting BIM/BIM related activities conducted by our client and subcontractors. The BIM Coordinator will support the BIM/BIM related work on each project and ensure proper policies and procedures are being followed to ensure BIM/BIM efforts are efficiently integrated into the project workflow.

    Responsibilities for this position include the following:

    • Support project team coordination process
      • Learn to assess accuracy and completeness of designer/trade models
        • Trades modeled may include: Structural, Mechanical, Plumbing, Electrical, Fire Protection, Metal Framing, Specialty systems etc.
        • Compile coordination models from designers/trades
        • Review and document relevant coordination model issues
        • Facilitate meetings between coordination team to address and resolve issues
        • Benchmark and record agreed model content for use in the field
    • Assist the BIM Project Engineer in preparing BIM/BIM Guidelines for project specific requirements (ITBs, Execution Plans, etc.)
    • Assist the BIM Engineer in helping the project team meet the BIM/BIM schedules for each project.
    • Learn how to compile data for field usage
      • Total station input and output
      • Drawing and model content for specific conditions outside other specific scopes
    • Learn how to coordinate exchange of data relevant to larger project team
      • RFIs generated through BIM process
      • Document impact on submittals and approvals
    • Learn to understand contractual and legal guidelines
    • Learn how to work with and understand Point Clouds, either by creating model geometry from Point Clouds and/or verifying models derived from Point Clouds.
    • Learn how to compile contract BIM/BIM required close out documentation (6D packages where applicable)
    • Able to take meeting minutes, edit and distribute to greater team
    • The ability to work in a variety of construction environments including commercial, educational, industrial and health care related projects
    • Assist with mapping processes used by BIM department for review and improvement
    • Assist in mentoring DOME Employees on modeling and coordination processes
    • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects and deadlines.
    • Willingness to pursue continued education on BIM and other CAD programs and skill sets

    Requirements for this position include the following:

    • A bachelor’s degree in construction management / Technology or equivalent education and experience is desired.
    • 0-3 or more years of experience in the role of working projects supporting BIM/BIM effort. Experience working for a General Contractor is a plus.
    • Software proficiency demonstrated in:
      • Microsoft® Office Suite Products
    • Exposure to BIM related software is a bonus.
      • Autodesk® Revit®
      • Autodesk® AutoCAD®
      • Autodesk® Navisworks® Manage
      • Bluebeam Revu
      • BIM Track
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
      • Interaction and coordination with staff and clients in different geographic locations.
      • Professional telephone manner
    • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills.
