    Business Systems Manager 

    The Business Systems Manager (BSM) partners with Operations and House departments to identify, evaluate, prioritize, design, implement, and document continuous improvements of processes and systems throughout the organization in alignment with overall corporate strategy.  The BSM will report to the Director of Innovation and Learning and oversee the work of Business Analysts.

    Business Systems Manager Responsibilities:

    • Partner with Department Heads, Group Leaders, and Leadership team to identify, create, implement, and improve systems, processes, and standards.
    • Evaluate business processes, anticipate requirements, uncover areas for improvement, and develop and implement solutions aligned with corporate strategic objectives.
    • Prioritize initiatives based on business needs and requirements.
    • Effectively communicate insights and plans to cross-functional team members and management to gain support for selected projects and improvements.
    • Evaluate the costs / benefits of system changes to ensure a reasonable return on investment.
    • Design, Implement, and Standardize a change management process that captures all existing systems and pending systems improvements. Note, systems improvements are not exclusively technology based.
    • Develop, implement, and maintain templates for Standard Operating Procedures.
    • Map the interconnectedness of all standard processes, systems, and tools.
    • Liaison between departments to ensure data entry redundancy is minimal and disparate systems are properly communicating and integrated.
    • Collaborate with IT manager, and DIAL (Department of Innovation and Learning) team to actualize objectives.
    • Lead Innovation Steering Committee (ISC)
    • Champion the successful implementation of process improvements selected by the ISC.
    • Manage competing resources and priorities.

     

    Industry Knowledge 

    • Stay current on the latest process and technology advancements to automate and modernize systems.
    • Attend relevant conferences and participate in peer networks.
    • Understand the development pipeline of major system tools (such as Viewpoint, Procore, Autodesk, etc.), which may include application updates, integrations, quality, etc.

    Project Management 

    • As needed, manage projects, develop project plans, and monitor performance.
    • Conduct meetings and presentations to share ideas and findings.
    • Perform requirements analysis.
    • Document and communicate the results of your efforts.
    • Monitor deliverables and ensuring timely completion of projects.

     Requirements:

    • A bachelor’s degree in business or equivalent education and experience.
    • Five or more years of experience managing development and implementation of systems and business process within a construction, engineering, or architecture industry preferred.
    • Five or more years of experience managing / supervising / developing a team.
    • Understand data architecture and system configurations.
    • Knowledge of differing project management methodologies to adjust approach to different project types.
    • Knowledge of a variety of data integration technologies
    • Exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills.
    • Emotional Intelligence in communicating and working with others.
    • Excellent written, oral, instructional, presentation, and interpersonal skills focused on motivation and positive attitude

    • Highly self-motivated, self-directed, proactive, and change-oriented
    • Excellent planning, organizational, and time management skills.
    • Ability to influence stakeholders and work closely with them to determine acceptable solutions.
